Help, what should I do when my car won’t start?
When your car battery fails, it means your car is immobile and a headache. Call us on 04 323 7106 for advice.
Changing the battery is a quick operation when carried out at the Service Centre, but more complicated of course when you are stuck at the side of the road.
Should my car battery be changed as a service item?
At GT Auto Centre we have the latest Bosch computerised testers that can quickly check the quality of your battery and advise if it should be changed. We do this as a free of charge complimentary service. Car batteries do not last for ever, and are worth changing every few years to ensure you are not let down. At GT Auto Centre we keep a large stock of Bosch and other quality batteries meaning we can quickly get you back on the road.
Is it necessary to reset car electrics after a battery change?
Some cars such as BMW’s give a warning that the battery is coming to the end of its natural life. When this happens, the car charging system “overcharges” to compensate for the failing battery. It’s critical to switch this off or your new battery will be overcharged and basically cook. At GT Auto Centre we have the correct equipment to reset the charging systems in accordance with manufactures instructions. It is not possible to do this without this equipment.
